Tallow, rendered beef fat from cows, has been used for centuries for baking, cooking and lathering onto the skin. Tallow is mostly saturated fat, so it is very low in polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs) which can age skin and cause inflammation.
Grass-fed tallow contains Vitamins A, D, K, E and B12 and is rich in fatty acids. Tallow is prized for keeping skin protected and moisturized, so you needn't reapply many times a day like traditional lotion. Our tallow is from 100% suet fat. This is the fat surrounding the cow's kidney and is the most pure and nourishing tallow with the least offensive smell, making it perfect for skincare. We get our pre-rendered tallow from a small shop in the Midwest that partners with local cattle farmers to collect the suet fat and kettle-render it in-house. It is then shipped to our shop fresh and ready for use! The tallow is certified organic and grown by farmers who value TRULY healthy animals. The livestock is raised without the use of antibiotics, synthetic hormones or pesticide exposure so the fat they harvest can be the most pure product for you. The cows are 100% grass-fed and pasture raised. Tallow can vary in color and is a natural product influenced by season, breed and age as well as grass species so small changes in our skincare products are normal.

The organic golden jojoba oil, mango butter and cocoa butter are from a small, woman-owned business based out of the USA that has co-ops in Africa.
Our beautiful, golden jojoba oil is harvested and grown in the USA and is unrefined and cold pressed. Jojoba oil is similar to human skin in it's composition. It can balance oil production and help prevent the growth of bacteria on the skin, thus preventing acne and clogging of pores.
The decadent cocoa butter is sourced from Ghana, Africa and is fairly traded. Cocoa butter is obtained from whole cocoa beans and has a beautiful chocolate scent. The powerful antioxidants not only positively affect skin, elasticity and texture but can leave your skin clear. It also helps diminish dark spots, can help relieve skin irrations and reduce stretch marks.
Our exotic mango butter is wild-harvested and sourced from the jungles of India. It gives our creams a rich, emollient feeling and softens and smooths the skin. Mango butter has very little scent, allowing our resins & flowers to be the star of the show.
Herbs, Flowers & Resins
All of our herbs & flowers are organically grown in the US from various family farms. We always purchase directly from farmers! Our resins are ethically sourced & harvested to maintain a carefully balanced ecosystem.
Here at Rooted Radiance, we choose to use whole plant material to infuse into our creams. When you're using whole plant material, you are extracting ALL of the beneficial constiuents from the plant. This makes your infused product not only effective but extremely gentle on the skin.
Using whole plants is also very sustainable! We're using a much smaller amount compared to essential oils which take pounds and pounds of plant material to produce a single bottle of oil.
